Casa San Luigi is located in the middle of Tuscany at the road between the village CASTELLINA MARITTIMA (distance 5 km) providing a good infrastructure and CHIANNI (9 km). The street is bituminised and leads through a nature protection area with beautiful mixed forests. The area is hilly and perfect for hiking. Many gravel roads are good for mountainbiking and offroad motorcycles.

In both typical Italian villages you get fresh bread, vegetables, meat, fish, and good local wines. Another good idea is to take an Espresso or Grappa in one of the many coffee bars and remember Don Camillo and Peppone. Within a radius of 30 minutes are a lot of recommendable restaurants providing delicious local dishes and wines.

For bigger shopping tours I recommend CECINA (22 km) or LIVORNO (34 km). Both towns are located at the "Costa degli Etruschi" (coast), which ranges from LIVORNO to PIOMBINO (ferry harbour to the island Elba) and provides clear water, different types of beaches (sand, gravel, rocks), as well as shady pine forests. The beaches are perfect for bathing, diving, or wind surfing. I can provide you with regional maps and information material or can help you creating your perfect itineraries.

The fastest approach from Casa San Luigi to the sea is VADA (19 km), well known for its "Spiaggia Bianca" (white sand beach) ...

... and the "Secche di Vada" (shoals of VADA), around the light house. Here are wrecks in depths between 9 and 30 metres - a paradise for skin divers. If you want to become a skin divers you may access one of the local diving schools.

To the south at the Gulf of Baratti, the Etruscan village POPULONIA is located, well known for its Etruscan tombs. You should take enough time for a visit.

From PIOMBINO, 60 km south of Casa San Luigi, ferrys departure every 30 minutes to Portoferraio (island Elba), where the Monte Capanne drops from over 1000 metres height down to the sea.

Only 15 km from my house you reach the active sulphur springs and hot springs of CASCIANA TERME, which ensure health and relaxation.

Medieval atmosphere compasses you in VOLTERRA (40 km) and SAN GIMIGNANO (50 km), well known for its 13 family towers, which create the characteristic look of the city.

The beautiful Chianti valley (with many wine tasting possibilities) is waiting for you, a visit of SIENA (85 km) or FLORENCE (80 km) is worth too.
