Here we provide different approach descriptions for the approach from the direction of Austria. If you come from another country, please send me an email at gabriella@sanluigi.at and I try to give you advices.

Approach 1 (for my guests, who pass the border in Carinthia):
Arnoldstein -> Tarvis (Tarvisio) -> Udine -> Venice (Venezia) -> Padua (Padova) -> Bologna -> Florence (Firenze).
From Florence to my house you have two possibilities:
Please pick "Approach 1 a" or "Approach 1 b".

Approach 1 a (this is the easier possibility using the highway):
At Florence stay on the highway until exit to A11 in direction of "Pisa Nord". After approx. 70 km on A11 take A12 in direction of "Livorno/Rosignano Marittimo/Roma". After another approx. 60 km you arrive at Rosignano Marittimo (end of highway).

Approach 1 b (this is the shortest possibility from Florence):
At Florence take the exit "Scandicci" to get on road S.G.C. (also called FI-PI-LI) in direction of Pisa-Livorno. After approx. 50 km take the exit "Pontedera/Ponsacco". Turn left in direction of "Casciana Terme" and on to road "SP48 / Strada Provinciale del Montevaso" in direction of "Chianni". Pass the village of Chianni, follow the road to a valley and up to the next ridge. At the following T-crossing turn right in direction of "Castellina Marittima". After approx. 4 km you see in a right turn Casa San Luigi on the left handside and reached your target.

Approach 2 (for our guests who pass the border in Tyrol):
Mountain "Brenner" -> Bolzano -> Trento -> Verona -> Mantova -> Modena -> Parma -> La Spezia -> Livorno -> Rosignano Marittimo (end of highway).

Finish:
After the toll booth turn left in the direction of Vada take the first exit on the highway (after approx. 500 m) and head on until the stop sign at the street "S206". Turn left (direction of Pisa) after 4 km you arrive at Le Badie (ERG gas station on the right handside). Turn right after the gas station to Castellina Marittima - Chianni.
At the roundabout (after approx. 8 km) take the last exit up the hill on the left, turn right trough the village Castellina Marittima and turn left on the main square. After 300 m take the exit to the right in the direction of Chianni (traffic refuge!).
On a winding, bituminised road you proceed 6 km through deciduous forests until you see in a left turn a yellow sign "Podere SAN LUIGI" on the right handside.

If you stick to this approach direction you should not have any problems to find Casa San Luigi and to enjoy your holidays.
